About Us

Conway Stove Company is more than a store; it is also a service business, Chimney Man, LLC, started over 40 years ago by Channing Synder and now run by his son, Quddus Snyder and partner James Baxendell-Young. We repair and maintain your chimneys, fireplaces and stoves and we provide and install the best available equipment for home heating.

Meet Our Team

Quddus Snyder

Q has been a partner with the business since 2013. He's been doing chimneys for about three decades. These days, he's focused on sales and stove installations, while covering bases in the company as needed. In his time off, he's traveling, rock climbing, and trying to keep the family farm going.

Dhane Knaakergaard

Dhane has been working chimneys for six years. He specializes in chimney cleaning, small repairs and most of our routine house calls. With his quick wit and a quiver of jokes, he's a real charm to have around. In his off time, he's busy with his new baby girl, while still finding a bit of time to pursue his passion for rock climbing. 

Jesse Briggs

Jesse is our all-star second year skilled apprentice. When not climbing chimneys, he spends every free moment conquering the region's most difficult rock climbing routes. 

James Baxendell-Young

Jimmy has been a partner in the business for nearly a decade. He specializes in all things chimney, with a special knack for restoration and complex venting systems. On his off days, he can be found doing projects on his homestead or ripping around trails on his mountain bike. 

Jena Stevens

Jena is our office manager, making the entire machine run smoothly. She manages the stove shop and handles all administrative and human resources responsibilities. When not in the store, she loves gardening and has her hands full raising three children with her husband. 

Silas Miller

Silas is our licensed gas stove and fireplace expert with 12 years of experience. When he's not working on chimneys he spends time with his family and loves skiing, rock climbing, and sailing on the coast of Maine.
